05 Dec Bright Ideas
Well done to all of those Year 9 students who took part in this year’s Social Enterprise Project! This initiative started 3 years ago and is designed to encourage entrepreneurship and business enterprise in our junior students.
The project takes place throughout Term 4. It starts with an introduction to social enterprise: what it’s all about and the benefits that come from operating not necessarily with a profit focus. Students are then asked to come up with an idea to benefit the school community. They are then encouraged to carry out a SWOT analysis and conduct research into the cost and feasibility of their idea.
The student projects-about 5-6 per class are firstly judged by one of the Deputy Principals and those selected then meet for the final judging. The budget limit for each idea is $300 and those ideas are selected are realised by the school.
The prize for Best Research & Presentation this year goes jointly to:
9TT Peace Garden
9K Shady Corp
The winning ideas that the school will be putting into place are:
9T The Handballers & 9M Handball Courts
9P Subsidised Feminine Hygeine Product Dispensers
Congratulations to the winners – it was a really tough decision as there were so many amazing ideas. Keep up the good work guys!
