Homestay & Administration Assistant
Permanent Part-Time Position
Pakūranga College is seeking to employ a Homestay & Administration Assistant to work in our International Students Department.
This is a permanent part-time position for 37.5 hours per week for secondary school term times. This role may involve work during the evenings and weekends and there may be additional hours required during the school holidays.
Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement and this position has been graded as Grade 3 of the Administration category. The hourly rate will be based on experience.
The position will include tasks such as:
- Supporting and assisting the Homestay Co-ordinators.
- Homestay provider recruitment process.
- Compilation of student profile information for host families.
- Ongoing support of students and their host families.
- Assisting with meeting the reporting requirements of the Code of Practice.
- Student arrival and departure transport as required.
- Supporting and assisting the International Administration Manager with admin duties.
- Supporting and assisting the International Director and Student Manager as requested.
- Managing the police vetting process.
- Maintaining the student records both physical and digital.
- Assisting with the student visa process.
The successful applicant will have:
- The ability to relate to teenagers from all cultures.
- Previous experience with Homestay placement and knowledge of the Code of Practice for International students and relevant. Ministry of Education guidelines is an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.
- The ability to work both independently and as a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills – excellent written and spoken English.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Planning and organisational skills.
- Full drivers licence and vehicle.
- The ability to be flexible with working times to meet the demands of the International Office.

Commerce and Social Sciences Teacher
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Commerce and Social Sciences teacher to join our thriving Social Sciences Faculty. The position commences at the beginning of Term 3.
Pakūranga College has a collaborative and dynamic Social Sciences Faculty. The successful candidate will have experience in Commerce and Social Sciences teaching across a range of year levels and abilities, and a willingness to support a variety of social science pathways.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
