BizTech Promotes New Careers in New Tech

Have you ever heard of STEAM? On Friday 30 March, BizTech Labs held a workshop for the budding Scientists, Engineers and Developers of Pakuranga College in the McRae Library. It was an awesome opportunity for students to explore the different branches of STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics!

The workshop invited four special speakers; Romney from Babcock, a Pakuranga College alumni; Jay and Andy from the NZ Defence Force; Ms Zhao, Pakuranga College’s very own Robotics teacher; and Ronel from Kai’s Education – and they all brought such insightful presentations and activities that dove into the different industries and skills of STEAM. From collaboration, ideation, leadership, and more!

The STEAM industry provides such rewarding career paths – technology is the future! However, as Mr Williams added, it is the human element that makes it remarkable.
