A Valentine’s Day with Heart

Interact is one of Pakuranga College’s biggest councils, and we are committed to helping the college and community by organising fundraisers for foundations. Throughout the years, we have had major success in events such as Wet the Head Students & House Captains, Bake Sales, Rotary Carnival and volunteering at local primary schools.

Our first event for 2022 was a Valentine’s Day fundraiser for The Heart Foundation, a charity dedicated to supporting Kiwis with heart-related diseases. During these challenging times, this fundraiser has helped to spread love and appreciation across Pakuranga College! We enjoyed  blowing up balloons, organising notes & delivering hearts to those who were gifted them. As red traffic light settings remain for all of Aotearoa, everyone’s safety was our top priority. This was carried out, upholding Covid safety protocols such as consistent sanistising, wearing gloves and contact tracing.

With the help of our fellow interactors and volunteers, we were able to deliver 1100 balloons and raise a good amount for the Heart Foundation! We would like to thank those who came along, supported and contributed in order to make this happen and help raise funds for this event, we really appreciate it!
