Last week, VTNZ stopped by the college to support students in obtaining their learner licences. Ka pai to the 26 Year 12 and 13 students who successfully gained their learner’s licence! This is so important for our students to become more independent and gain future employment opportunities.

Special mention to our 2025 YES business, Licence to Win, whose road code playing cards helped our students prepare for their tests. Thank you to the Careers Department for organising this opportunity for our students, two of whom have shared their experiences below.

The overall experience was really cool and being able to do it at school was very fun. The VTNZ staff were very helpful and provided us with help when we needed it. I am very excited to now have my learner’s license and the freedom that comes with it!

Having the opportunity to sit my learner’s licence at school allowed me to prepare with others collaboratively and gave me time to feel confident before sitting the test. Using the Licence to Win flash cards was really helpful and made the whole process enjoyable and stress-free. I’m excited to not have to carry around my passport as ID anymore!
