Pakūranga College’s very own Peyton Haugh from Tōtara Whānau, is making waves on the international dance stage, with her dance crew, The Collective.
The crew recently travelled to Los Angeles to compete at the prestigious World of Dance summit, a global event featuring some of the most talented crews from across the world. The team earned their spot at the competition by taking first place at the New Zealand national qualifiers, scoring an incredible 97 out of 100, a score that fast-tracked them straight to the international finals.
In LA, the group brought their A-game. Not only did they win first place in the team division, but they were also announced as the third-highest scoring team overall, an amazing achievement on the world stage.
And the journey’s not over yet! Next month, Peyton and The Collective will head across the ditch to compete at Danchella, one of the Gold Coast’s biggest dance festivals.
We’re so proud Peyton, and we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way!
