On Thursday 11 June, a group of our Year 9 students studying Chinese participated in an online cultural exchange with students from Taoyuan Senior High School in Taiwan.
During the session, the Taiwanese students delivered a presentation about some of Taiwan’s unique rock formations, local attractions, and the country’s tourism industry. Following the presentation, our Year 9 students had the opportunity to practise their Mandarin by introducing themselves and sharing a little about their lives and interests.
The session concluded with students being placed into breakout rooms, where they enjoyed asking each other questions about school life, weekend activities, hobbies, and cultural differences. These conversations provided a valuable opportunity for authentic language use and intercultural learning.
The International Department would like to thank Mrs Xu for her enthusiasm and willingness to support these online exchanges with Taoyuan Senior High School. We look forward to the next exchange!
