Equestrian
Year 12 student, Lottie Currell, along with three other riders from the New Zealand Pony Club travelled to Suzhou in China to compete in the 2026 Show Jumping Competition hosted by Saga Pony Club.
The 106 riders from across Asia, New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa competed in teams of four, with Lottie’s team making up the only team representing New Zealand. The riders competed at heights from trot poles to 80cm heights. As an overseas rider, Lottie and her team had to compete on borrowed ponies that they had only met two days prior to the competition. The New Zealand team won 2nd place in the 60cm round and 3rd place in the 80cm round. Lottie also went on to compete as an individual in the 110cm round taking 4th place. Congratulations on these amazing results Lottie, ka pai!
