College Sport Young Sportsperson of the Year

We had three Pakūranga College students nominated for this year’s College Sport Young Sportsperson of the Year awards, which were held last week. Only three athletes are shortlisted as finalists in each category, so just to make it to the awards is an honour.

Congratulations to our nominees:

Doris Wang – Girls’ Ultimate Frisbee

Billy Maui – Boys’ Ultimate Frisbee

Julius Sailer – Boys’ Hockey

A special congratulations to our 1st XI Boys’ Hockey captain, Julius, who won his category against some tough competition from players from Saint Kentigern and Westlake Boys High School.

Ka rawe to everyone, we’re so proud of the grit and determination that led you here!

Hillcrest Exchange

Last week, we embraced the tradition of going head-to-head with Hillcrest High School in the annual Hillcrest Exchange. This year, we played at home and had some great successes! Although there were some tough matches and a few losses, the Pakūranga team claimed the win overall! A massive ka rawe to all our teams who competed, and thank you our opposition from Hillcrest.
