On 28 July, the 2026 Miss Universe New Zealand Grand Finale was held at SkyCity Theatre, with Pakūranga College students Aaron Desoy (Kauri) and Laurence Lopez (Rimu) giving a guest performance at the event.
Aaron and Laurence participated with their hip-hop group, Magnus Dance Crew, delivering an entertaining dance routine in front of a large audience. The weeks leading up to the event were spent rehearsing and preparing.
Aaron says, “Performing at the Miss Universe New Zealand Grand Finale was an incredible achievement, showing what students can accomplish through dedication and hard work outside the classroom. We were so happy to take part in this opportunity and have hopefully have inspired others.”
