On Tuesday 18 August, seven Young Enterprise students attended a workshop run by Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand. They got to learn about what a career in accounting looks like as well as hear from a variety of Chartered Accountants.
The main event was the Case Challenge, where the students worked in groups competing against students from across Auckland. The case study topic allocated was about merger and acquisition. The groups had to decide which company to merge based on financial information, values, and strategies. Once the teams had created a plan, they presented to a panel of judges.
Congratulations to Elaine Zhu, Nikita Jolly, Savanna Quinn, and Daniella Sansom who took the win! The team received a tote bag full of goodies as their prize.
Overall it was an awesome opportunity for the students to learn from knowledgeable mentors and network with other Young Enterprise students. Thank you to Mr Thai for his support with this activity.
