Year 12 student, Autumn McCaughan, of Kauri Whānau has been awarded a full PASCH (Partner School) Scholarship to attend a three-week German language and cultural programme in Sankt Peter-Ording, Germany, through the Goethe-Institut from 28 June to 21 July. Interestingly enough, this is where Autumn’s German teacher spent his year abroad while a student.
This fully funded scholarship covers all flights, transport, accommodation, tuition, activities, and meals – it has a value of approximately NZD 11,130 per scholar. Each of the seven PASCH schools in New Zealand is awarded one spot in this programme.
The programme includes German language classes from Monday to Friday, complemented by a variety of active and creative leisure activities. Students will explore local cultural and touristic sites and visit CAU, the University of Kiel, offering them a unique insight into German university life.
This scholarship is an incredible opportunity for Autumn to strengthen her linguistic skills and experience Germany’s rich cultural landscape firsthand. Congratulations Autumn!
