As one of the Co-Chairs of the Interact Council, I was proud to help organise this year’s 40-Hour Challenge, an event dedicated to raising money and awareness for children and communities in the Solomon Islands. This challenge was an opportunity for our school to come together, have fun, and make a meaningful difference.
To build excitement for the event, the Interact Council organised Hype Week, where students took part in a range of fundraising activities. One of the highlights was the 3-Point Challenge, where students put their basketball skills to the test while helping raise money. It was amazing to see so many students getting involved and supporting the cause.
Another memorable moment was the Wet the Student Leaders Challenge, where students donated money for the chance to pour buckets of water over our student leaders. We also ran the Tape the Teacher Challenge, where students worked together to tape teachers to a wall while raising funds. These activities created a fun and energetic atmosphere throughout the school while reminding everyone of the purpose behind the challenge.
The money raised through the 40-Hour Challenge will go towards supporting children and families around the world by providing access to essentials such as clean water, education, healthcare, food, and resources that help communities create a better future.
Being part of the Interact Council and seeing our school community unite was incredibly rewarding. It showed that small contributions can create a lasting impact, and together we were able to make a difference.
