Hockey
Our 1st XI Girls’ Hockey team has posted two wins recently, coming out on top with a 6-3 win over Selwyn College and a 1-0 win over Epsom Girls’ Grammar! Ka pai to captain, Ashley Simango, for leading the charge and scoring 4 of our 6 goals against Selwyn, what a performance!
Well done to our Junior Boys’ Hockey team for their 8-0 win against Elim! Let’s keep that momentum rolling!
Taekwondo
At the beginning of January, Kevin began the trial process to join the New Zealand team for the Taekwondo World Championships. After three months of weekly training and monthly weekend-long camps in Wellington, Kevin has been selected for the Junior division team representing New Zealand in Croatia this October. Best of luck for Croatia, Kevin!
Cricket
Congratulations to Veronique Koole of Nīkau, who was named U16 Girls Player of the Year 2024–2025 at the Howick Pakūranga Cricket Club Junior Prizegiving!
In her first-ever season of club cricket, Veronique smashed expectations, also picking up a Junior Performance Award for her incredible 56 runs off just 28 balls against Eden Roskill!
Athletics
Ka pai to Kauri’s Jordan Viljoen, who took home the President’s Cup at the Pakūranga Athletics Club AGM, awarded to the most outstanding athlete in their age group! Invited to the meeting as a national title holder, Jordan was surprised to also walk away with the club’s top honour!
Baseball
Huge congratulations to Casey Chung and Jett Chung from Nīkau Whānau for being selected to represent Auckland Baseball at the 13U Asia Pacific Qualifier this June in Taipei! Best of luck on the international stage, let’s go, boys!
