Baseball Powerhouses – Simon Aukett off to Korea
Baseball stars Simon Aukett (Kauri) and Messiah Tuhoro (Pōhutukawa) were both named in the U18 NZ Squad in April, gearing up for the U18 World Cup qualifiers in 2025. Ka pai boys!
Simon’s U14 Auckland rep baseball team also recently earned the right to represent NZ in Korea in June, where they will play for a chance to represent the Asia/Pacific region at the Little League World Series in America in August.
Battling against Wellington for the NZ team honours, the U14 Auckland team claimed victory in four matches, 3-1. Simon, a pitcher, helped his team to this stellar result with a rare no-hit game, meaning not a single batter could connect with his pitches! Good luck in Korea, Simon!

Of the team’s 10 players, seven are new to Premier netball and we can’t wait to see how the players progress throughout the season! A shout out to the team’s fantastic coaching and management team, Lisa and Rishi, too.
At the team’s grading last weekend, our Premier netball team earned a spot in the Premier 2 grade for 2024! Highlights included a stellar 34-19 victory against Macleans College and an awesome 30-18 win over Baradene.
