In 2025, we proudly placed 36 Year 12 and 13 students into workplaces through our Gateway programme. Each student explored an industry of interest and completed 10 days of hands-on work experience with a local employer. Our students gained valuable insight across a wide range of industries, including automotive, construction, plumbing, electrical, tourism, interior design, cosmetology, and more.
We are incredibly grateful to the many employers who supported our students, and we would like to give special thanks to two in particular.
Autostance (East Tamaki) welcomed two of our students over a 10-week period. During this time, students assisted with basic vehicle servicing, modifications, wheel alignments, and general workshop maintenance. Matt and the team provided outstanding support and meaningful, real-world learning opportunities. We are thrilled that both students have since gone on to pursue further study in automotive engineering at MIT.
We would also like to acknowledge Jamie and the team at Circit Electrical, who provided workplace learning opportunities for three of our students. They gained experience assisting qualified electricians with wiring projects for renovations and new builds; an invaluable introduction to the electrical industry.
We are already looking ahead to Gateway 2026, with students preparing for their upcoming placements.
