School Nurse – Sole Charge

Permanent Position


We are seeking to employ a School Nurse to work in our Administration and Pastoral Care teams.


This is a permanent position for 31.5 hours per week, secondary school term time only.


Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement and this position has been graded as Grade C.


The position will include tasks such as:

  • Accident and emergency treatment and referral
  • Liaising with and supporting the Pastoral Care Teams
  • Maintaining a full accident register
  • Maintaining student health records on Kamar (student management system)
  • Managing first aid kits, AEDs and medicines
  • Completing ACC forms and claims
  • Review and assess new student health requirements
  • Liaise with the community health sector
  • Be a member of the Health and Safety Committee
  • Manage Health Centre requirements including the budget


The successful applicant will have/be:

  • A current NZ practicing certificate
  • A passion for working with young people
  • A sound understanding of professional ethics
  • An understanding of and practice of confidentiality and advocacy
  • Empathetic to the needs of young people
  • ACC registered
  • Efficient time management skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team but also independently
  • Computer literate with excellent written and communication skills
  • A current drivers licence

Teacher Aide

Temporary Position

This position is for 30 hours per week (during the school term) until the end of Term 3 (Friday 27 September), working in a department that caters for wonderful and vibrant students from Year 9-13+ with various special needs and talents.


We are looking for passionate, caring and enthusiastic person.  The successful applicant will be required to work with a variety of students who require learning support both in the learning unit and in mainstream settings.  You will also need to be able to work with teachers and other staff members to ensure that our students have the best educational opportunities and outcomes.
