Sports Coordinator
Permanent, Full-time
Pakūranga College is seeking to employ a Sports Coordinator to work with our Sports Director in our Sports Department. This is a permanent position for 37.5 hours per week. There are weekend hours required during the sports season.
Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement, and this position has been graded as Grade 2 and will be paid under salarisation.
The position will include tasks such as:
- Working closely with the Sports Director.
- Promoting sport to the student body.
- Understanding of seasonal draws, transport requirements, etc.
- Administration tasks and support for the sports programme.
- Managing a core sports programme, e.g. basketball.
- Liaising with coaches and managers to coordinate training programmes.
- Organize awards and prizegiving ceremonies.
- Collect, collate and record all results.
- Manage the sport resources including distribution of equipment and uniform.
The successful applicant will have:
- A love of sport.
- A proven record working with young people.
- Experience working in the school sport sector. A relevant tertiary qualification is preferred but not essential.
- The ability to work both independently and as a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills – verbal and written.
- Ability to prioritise and meet critical deadlines.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- A can-do attitude.

Music Teacher
Full time, Permanent
We are seeking a passionate and skilled music teacher to join our vibrant and well-established Arts Faculty. The position commences at the beginning of Term 3, Monday 14 July, or sooner by negotiation.
Pakūranga College has an extensive music programme with strong student involvement in both classical and contemporary ensembles, regularly performing and competing at regional and national events. The successful candidate will have experience in classroom music teaching across a range of year levels and styles, and a willingness to support a variety of music pathways. An interest or ability in teaching other Performing Arts subjects is welcomed, please state this in your application cover letter.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- A strong understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum in Music.
- Enthusiasm for contributing to and developing co-curricular ensembles and performance opportunities.
- The ability to connect with and inspire a diverse range of learners.
- A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and inclusive education practices.
- Willingness to work collaboratively within a creative team environment.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position are set by the relevant collective agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $61,329 to $103,086, depending on the applicant’s qualifications and experience. Individual salary will be confirmed following a salary assessment once the role is appointed.
