Whanau Tutor Waka Trip

22 Jun Whanau Tutor Waka Trip

On the 24th May, members of Whanau Tutor travelled to Auckland Maritime Museum to learn about the ancestral migration from Polynesia to Aotearoa.

On that day, Whanau Tutor had the privilege of sailing on board Aotearoa Tuatahi, a traditional Maori sailing waka. The crew on board gave us the opportunity to sail on the Waitemata Harbour as well as the chance to explore and learn more about the structure of the waka. The trip was educational and really exciting for us.
