31 Mar Tip Top Business Trip
On Tuesday 23rd of March, Level 1 Business and Economics students toured the Tip Top ice-cream factory.
The tour covered a wide range of information, including marketing, sales, resourcing, efficiencies, supply chain and also the affect of COVID-19 on the business. Students were initially briefed on the health and safety protocol at the factory before making their way through the production process from the storage and treating of raw materials, all the way through to food technologists and their role in developing new and existing products.
Considering the purchase of Tip Top by a foreign multinational and some recent capital investment, this year’s tour provided new insights into how the business has developed and streamlined some of its processes within the last year. The tour finished with students choosing their own ice-cream before watching a short video on the history of Tip Top.
