11 Sep Sarisha Moves Up at Netsafe
Year 13 student, Sarisha Claassen is Head of the school’s Digital Leadership Council and a member of the Netsafe Youth Action Squad. She’s been doing such a great job that Netsafe has asked her to take on an exciting new role! We asked her to tell us how all of this came about:
“I am currently a member of the Netsafe Youth Action Squad and am one of eight team members in New Zealand! In 2020, I will be moving up in Netsafe and becoming an Ambassador. I will still be doing projects with Netsafe but guiding student representatives from Auckland and New Zealand wide, sharing the message of Netsafe and what services they offer to people all over New Zealand.
I got asked if I wanted to receive the role and continue on with what as I was doing, and as I really enjoyed it this year it was an easy decision to make. I love being a Netsafe Ambassador as it helps me be more careful with what I am doing online and to find solutions to online issues people don’t often think about. It is really nice to be able to help people in different ways through the role. I am definitely looking forward the most to seeing how much Netsafe can progress and become normal to use for people, especially youth New Zealand wide!”
