Ryzmin to Represent Samoa

31 Jul Ryzmin to Represent Samoa

16 year old Ryzmin Tuifao has been selected to represent Samoa in the U17 Boys’ team at the 2019 FIBA U17 Oceania Qualifiers in New Caledonia later this month. The leading scorer in Pakuranga College’s Premier team has been identified as “One of the top basketball players within Samoa, NZ and Australia”, by the Samoan National Basketball Federation, despite having played the sport for less than 3 years.

Head of Basketball at the school, Josiah Maama, believes that Ryzim’s success is due to a combination of talent and hard work: “He’s is a high-quality player and an even more high-quality young man. Ryzmin is a down-to-earth guy who is respected in our program as a hard worker both on and off the court. He doesn’t say much, but his actions provide the true picture of his value and leadership. His family are at every game supporting him, and you can tell they are the backbone to his character and how he plays.”
