Model United Nations Assembly

06 Jun Model United Nations Assembly

On 26th and 27th May, three Pakuranga College students attended the annual Model United Nations Assembly, hosted by Rotary International.

At this event, students in teams of three act as delegates from countries of the UN and speak on behalf of a member country, as well as representing the country’s views and opinions. Our three students were Andrew Hislop, Carmen Liu and Samuel Chen, and they represented the Syrian Arab Republic.

Over the course of two days, the students discussed global issues such as water sanitation, refugee quotas, renewable energy and other relevant, engaging topics. It was a great experience for these students as they learnt about how different countries uphold their values and have different perspectives due to their personal interests.
