17 Mar Kauri Claim First in Girls’ Swimming Sports
After a string of second place finishes in the Girls’ Swimming Sports, Kauri finally made it to the top of the podium in a tightly contested event, which saw them finish just six points ahead of last year’s victors, Totara.
Kauri’s champion swimmer, Ella Crowe, entered the maximum six races, personally contributing 26 points to her House’s total tally. The Year 13 student leaves on a high, saying “after five years, it’s great to finally claim the win.”
“This year we were really hungry for it and that was reflected in the high participation numbers from Kauri students throughout the day. With juniors rostered to learn from home, participation was more of a challenge than usual for all Houses, so it was great to see our girls commit to lots of events and fight for every point.”
The podium finishes for Girls’ Swimming Sports were:
- 1st place – Kauri House
- 2nd place – Totara House
- 3rd place – Nikau House
