Head Students Collaborate for Charity

07 Aug Head Students Collaborate for Charity

The Head Prefects from East Auckland schools: Pakuranga College, Howick College, Macleans College, Edgewater College, St Kentigern College, Sancta Maria College, Ormiston Senior College, Botany Downs Secondary College and Elim Christian College, along with members from the Howick Youth Council, have been meeting since Term 2 to organise events to support charitable organisations across the East Auckland region, such as blanket and food collections, volunteering at Auckland City Mission and mufti days. We have recently hosted a Charity Concert on Thursday 1st August to raise money for Mike King’s ‘I Am Hope Foundation’.

Featuring music ensembles and dance groups from all nine schools, it was also a great opportunity to showcase local talent. From Pakuranga College, there was our kPop group — Pakpop — as well as a band from Level 3 Music — Earth, Wind and Water. There was an amazing turnout, selling over 250 tickets. Along with a generous donation from Hynds Foundation, we raised a total of $2450 for I Am Hope!! We’d like to thank everyone who supported this event either by attending or behind the scenes. Thank you for making this event the success it was!
