04 Dec Farm Cove Scientists
On Tuesday 1st December, a group of Year 8 students from Farm Cove Intermediate visited our Science Faculty, as part of an initiative by our Kahui Ako (Community of Learning).
The Science focus of the kahui ako is for students to be curious about the world around them and to “think like a scientist, talk like a scientist”. The students were given four experiments: combustion (burning magnesium), optics, filtration and using a microscope.
The students had a fantastic time and it really helped them to get an idea of what Science is like in a secondary school environment.
