Students & Staff go directly to the track, do not come to school first.
ALL students and staff are to attend this school event.
Students are required to report to their tutor at the track for roll call at 8.35am. First events commence at 8.50am (field) and 8.50am (track).
After the last event, at approximately 2.50pm there will be a roll call and students will be released as a group by the Principal.
Students must cross the Pakuranga Highway at pedestrian crossings at intersections controlled by lights. Staff will be on duty in these areas.
*If bad weather causes cancellation, this will be advised on the school website the day before, and via e-mail. Students will then resume a normal school day. The reserve day for Athletics will be confirmed closer to the time.
PROGRAMME / EVENTS (Track events take priority over field events)
ALL students are to participate on the day. Students enter by turning up to events. Everyone should compete in at least 1 event, but no more than 6.
1 house point will be awarded per event participated in. Placing points awarded for championship events.
TRACK EVENTS: All running events are split into: – Championship Events (serious athletes only)
– Non Championship Events (house point runners)
Championship Events – for serious athletes only. Timed races in which school champions are decided
Non Championship Events – those students running for participation. Races are not timed.
EVENTS ON DAY: 100m, 200m, 400m, Shot Put, Discus, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump (competitive – 3 per house with no house points), Javelin, Relays
*NOTE: 1500m & 3000m – 3000m will be run at 8.15am in the morning for serious athletes only and 1500m will be run as a straight final with limited entries on the day.
Junior: 12 or 13 years old on 1st January 2021
Intermediate: 14 or 15 years old on 1st January 2021
Senior: 6 years or older on 1st January 2021
WHAT TO WEAR:
ALL students are to compete in their PE Uniform or Sports Gear in their House colours. Wear sports shoes or spikes to prevent cuts or blisters. Don’t wear mufti!
This is a school day in which normal school rules apply. Do not bring valuables to the track as they will get lost. e.g. computers, devices, etc.
No body marking or face paint – you will be required to clean these off your skin.
NO ONE will be allowed to leave the track during the day. Should it be necessary to sign out you are required to bring a note to be signed out at the pavilion by a Senior Leadership Team Member.
BIKES & CARS
Bikes are not permitted on the track. If you bike to the track, your bike can be locked up in a designated area. You will only be able to retrieve your bike at the end of the day.
Students with approved vehicle usage must park in Bell Road Car Park. Staff onlymay use Cascades Rd Car Park.
FOOD & DRINK
The Tuck Shop will be selling limited amounts of food/drink. (EFTPOS is available). Students should therefore bring plenty of water & food with them.

INHALERS & ANTIHISTAMINES – There will be a nurse at athletics to treat accidents. She will not be carrying any medication, therefore each student must bring their own routine medications eg: inhalers and paracetamol.
