Enviro Council Goes Back to Primary School

06 Jun Enviro Council Goes Back to Primary School

On 21st of May, students from the Environmental Council arrived at Wakaaranga Primary School for our annual trip.

Once there, we set up in four separate stations: Physics, Light, Renewable Energy and Quiz. At the Physics station, the Wakaaranga students engaged with different forms of electricity and frictional devices. At the Light station they learnt about the principles of light waves and how these are used in our modern day lives. The Renewable Energy station taught the students about where our electricity comes from in New Zealand and the Quiz station tested them on they renewable energy knowledge.

To conclude the event, Sue Lynn ran an inter-class screaming competition to see which class was the loudest, using a decibel meter. I would like to thank all of Environmental Council for their contributions to this event, the teachers of Wakaaranga Primary School and Ms de Roo for making this day possible.
