Cultural Expo 2020

13 Aug Cultural Expo 2020

Cultural Council and several cultural groups had the opportunity this week to hold our annual Cultural Expo, showcasing the culture and diversity that we are so proud of at Pakuranga College! Fortunately, the weather was kind to us. We were able to have a few stalls during morning tea to display some cultural activities, such as traditional games from the Japanese cultural group, and henna from the Indian cultural group. At lunch, we had performances from many cultural groups, including the Cook Islands, Japanese, Chinese, kapa haka, Tonga, Kpop (Korean) and a viral Spanish line dance led by Mr. Young.

Despite the fact that we were unable to have Cultural Night this year due to Covid-19, Cultural Expo was an amazing opportunity to showcase our different cultures. A huge thank you to all the hard work each group put in and to the teachers: Ms. Taylor, Mr. Young and Mrs. Bookwalla, for their support in making this event such a success! Finally, another huge thank you to the students who got involved and participated throughout the week. This wouldn’t have been such a huge success without your support!
