Compost Champions

13 Aug Compost Champions

On 30th of July, members of the Environmental Council went to work building a compost bin for our school garden. This was part of our current waste reduction project, in which we are trying to reduce the waste at Pakuranga College by 40%, by properly sorting and disposing of our rubbish.

Compost Collective

We were lucky enough to have Hari Narayan from Compost Collective to help us in the construction process. The project was funded by the Howick local board.

We hope that this will allow for more food waste to composted rather than heading to landfill. If you get the chance, come and have a look at the bin and the other amazing work the Council has done in the school garden, located behind the Pegasus Unit.
