BOT Elections 2016

The School Board Trustee Elections are coming up in May/June this year.

Every school in New Zealand is run by a school board of trustees.  The board is made up of parent community, a staff trustee and a student trustee.  Our board meets for two hours each month other than January, to guide the strategic direction of the school.

The board is focused on delivering the best learning and education outcomes for our students.  We have an ambitious 10 year development programme under way (step one of which is the new gym), with many other exciting initiatives in progress.

Board members are elected for a three year term, as voted by the parent community. More information on being a trustee can be obtained here. Whilst previous board or school governance experience is preferred, it is not mandatory.  Full training will be provided.

Elections will be held in May, and obviously we want the strongest, most skilled board members to ensure that your community is properly represented in the strategic direction of Pakuranga College.

Parents who would like Parents’ Guide information booklet please email Parents who are interested in joining the board should register their interest with our Returning Officer, Mark Dickinson – as soon as possible.
