Year 9 Music General Course (9MUS) One Term
This is a one term course where students develop or advance their musical ability. Students prepare and play simple
musical items using classroom instruments. They create compositions alone and in groups, perform alone and in
groups, and study the elements and theory of music.
Year 9 Band (9MUB) One Term
This specialised course is for students with zero to two years experience on a woodwind, brass or percussion

in term two to form a Wind Band. From this class students often progress into the full-school Concert Band or Jazz Band.
Course cost: Wind and brass instruments can be hired from the school ($69 for six months) or you may supply
your own instrument. Instrumental tuition fee for school-based lessons is $15 per term.
