Read your option sheet carefully
STEP 2
Choose the five full year courses you wish to study
STEP 3
Choose the most appropriate level at which to study. Discuss this with your parents,
subject teachers, head of faculty, dean or careers advisor.
STEP 4
In term 3 return the option sheet, when requested by the appropriate subject teacher.
STEP 5
Discuss and confirm your choices with a careers advisor when your class goes to the
careers room
STEP 6
Discuss any recommended changes to your selection with your parents/caregivers.
Every effort will be made to give you the subjects you select. Sometimes this is not
possible because of subject clashes or not enough students choosing a subject. In this
situation you will need to make a new selection.
MULTI-levelling and Acceleration
NCEA levels 1, 2 and 3 may be viewed as a “menu” of programmes available to all students
regardless of their age or year group, however multi-levelling and acceleration options
need to be thought about carefully. If you are interested you should talk to the head of
faculty, your dean and careers advisors. In some cases your teachers may suggest this
as a possibility for you.
