Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is a locally elected board that governs Pakuranga College.  All state and state integrated schools in New Zealand have their own Board of Trustees.

The Board is responsible for establishing the College's charter, which sets out the aims and objectives of the school.

Typically a board includes:

  • the principal
  • a staff representative
  • parent representatives (between 3 and 7)
  • a student representative

A board may also include co-opted trustees, ie trustees who are formally asked to be part of the Board without being elected by the school community.
